Purpose
The Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce Web site,
http://PHPartners.org, is designed to help the pubic
health workforce find and use information effectively to improve and protect the public's
health.
Inclusion Criteria
The following items will be considered in decisions about whether a link will be added to PHPartners.org:
Authority

The source of the content is established, respected and dependable.
The name(s) of a credible author, creator, or producer is published on the site.

The qualifications of persons or organizations providing any medical or health
advice are clearly presented.
Appropriateness

The information provided is appropriate to the audience.
The target audience for PHPartners.org is public health workers who are employed to improve health through a population focus.
Quality
-
The content is accurate, well organized, and easy to use.
Access and Reliability
-
The link is consistently available.
-
Links from the site are maintained.
-
The site does not take an excessively long time to load.
-
Registration or payment of a fee is not required to view the information on the site.
Currency
-
Information is current or an update date is included on the site.
Purpose
-
The aims of the Web site and sponsoring organizations are clearly identified.

Any advocacy positions of the Web site are explicitly acknowledged.

The primary purpose of the link is to provide information and not to sell a commercial product or service.
Sponsorship

The sponsoring organization of the Web site is clearly identified including commercial
and non-commercial organizations that have contributed funding, services, or material
for the site.

Sponsoring organizations may include government agencies; voluntary, nonprofit and
professional organizations; educational institutions; libraries; foundations; and
commercial news organizations and publishers that provide substantial health information.
Language

An English language version of the Web site is available.

The Web site can provide links to information resources in languages other than English.
Exclusion Criteria

Any site that does not distinguish between information and services offered at no or low
cost and information and services marketed at a commercial rate. This does not exclude
links to government agencies and non-profit organizations that charge for publications or
attendance registration fees.

Any site with undetermined sponsorship or affiliation.

Any site that is deemed to be inaccurate, misleading, prejudicial, intolerant,
irresponsible, or unethical.

Any site which promotes products or services likely to be unhealthy, e.g., tobacco,
firearms, alcohol and other hard drugs.

Any site that includes invalid or unsupported health claims.

Any site that provides secondary linkages to inappropriate content.
Link Suggestions

Users of the site can submit suggestions for new links via the "Suggest Link" interface
on the PHPartners.org Web site. While all suggestions will be considered, there is no
guarantee that the suggested link will be posted.

We particularly invite suggestions for links to government and non-profit organizations
that serve as gateways to information on a variety of topics related to public health.
PHPartners.org does not normally include links to commercial products or services.
PHPartners.org acknowledges that a site with valuable information may also contain
information on commercial products or services, however, acceptance of a link does not
imply PHPartners.org endorses any commercial product or service contained in the link.
