The conference offers networking and learning opportunities for individuals wanting to learn more about the roles of culture, language, and literacy in cancer health disparities and in the design, implementation, and evaluation of cancer communications, programs, and educational interventions.
  • National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) 2012 Annual Conference - (National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI))  - May 21-23, 2012, New Orleans, LA. This year's theme, Leveraging Public Health Institutes for Systems Change, will explore opportunities on the horizon and currently underway, for public health systems partners to utilize the broad range of capacities of the nation's public health institutes to be a catalyst for systems change.
  • Positive Health Promotion Forum - (Positive Psychology In Action (PPIA))  - May 27, 2012, Houston, TX. The forum intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from both Positive Psychology and Health Promotion to share knowledge and expertise, stimulate ideas and discussions, and explore the emerging interdisciplinary area, Positive Health Promotion.
  • Children's Environmental Health Network Research Conference - (Children's Environmental Health Network (CEHN))  - May 30 - June 1, 2012, San Francisco, CA. The conference will highlight the role of epigenetics in determining the impact of the environment on pediatric disease and children's current and future health.
  • Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) Annual Conference - (Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE))  - June 3-7, 2012, Omaha, NE. The conference connects public health epidemiologists from across the country and will include workshops, plenary sessions with leaders in the field of public health, oral breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, and poster presentations.
  • Biodefense Vaccines & Therapeutics Conference - June 5-8, 2012, Washington, DC. Senior government decision makers will provide progress updates on biodefense and public health initiatives for advance medical countermeasures (MCM) development.
  • Healthy Cities 2012 Conference - June 6-8, 2012, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The 5th Healthy Cities: Working Together to Achieve Liveable Cities Conference will be a platform for Government and Industry sector professionals to discuss causes, effects and solutions that relate to population health, sustainability, natural resource management, transport, climate change, urban design and more.

  • Social Marketing Conference: Ideas Beyond Borders - (University of South Florida (USF))  - June 15-16, 2012, Clearwater Beach, FL. The theme of the conference is Getting Better at Doing Good that reflects the global reality that government institutions, not-for-profit groups, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), universities and colleges, and businesses are searching for better ways to improve people's health, the environment, infrastructures, and social welfare.
  • Head Start's National Research Conference - (Administration for Children and Families, HHS (ACF))  - June 18-20, 2012 Washington, DC. The event provides practitioners, researchers, administrators, and policy makers involved in Head Start, early childhood, childcare, health care, and administration programs the opportunity to share research that promotes positive development in young children.
  • Open Forum Meeting for Quality Improvement (QI) in Public Health - (National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI))  - June 19-20, 2012, Portland, OR. The Open Forum Meeting is part of the Strengthening the Community of Practice for Public Health Improvement (COPPHI) that will convene leaders and practitioners representing key organizations and investments shaping quality in public health today. The registration deadline is May 21, 2012.
  • USPHS 2012 Scientific and Training Symposium - (U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS))  - June 19-21, 2012, Washington, DC. The theme for the conference is Prevention Strategies for a Healthy Nation: Building on the Basics of Public Health.
  • AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) - (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ))  - June 24-26, 2012, Orlando, FL. The ARM is a forum for health services research, where attendees gather to discuss health policy implications, sharpen research methods, and network with colleagues from around the world.
  • National School-Based Health Care Convention - (National School-Based Health Care (NASBHC))  - June 24-27, 2012, Albuquerque, NM. The 2012 theme "New Directions for School-Based Health Care: Hot Topics for our Future" will highlight recent advancements of school-based health care on Capitol Hill, in communities, and in schools.
  • Public Health Systems Research (PHSR) Interest Group 2012 Meeting - (AcademyHealth)  - June 26-27, 2012, Orlando, FL. The meeting will support the generation of new knowledge and move that knowledge into action. It will address the development of rigorous research as well as PHSR's relevance through translation for policy and practice.
  • APHA Midyear Meeting: The New Public Health - Rewiring for the Future - (American Public Health Association (APHA))  - June 26-28, 2012, Charlotte, NC. The meeting will offer public health professionals, partners and stakeholders the opportunity to learn about how the public health system must position itself to address future needs. Attendees will learn about educational, policy and advocacy tools needed for keeping up with and anticipating changes to "rewire" the public health infrastructure.
  • International Conference on Health in the African Diaspora - ICHAD 2012 - (Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (JHSPH))  - July 4-8, 2012, Baltimore, MD. The theme of ICHAD 2012 is "The Great Scattering: Connecting the Dots between Slavery and Contemporary Health in the African Diaspora." The conference will explore the health status of black descendants of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and identify multilevel actions, including international partnerships, for improving the health of this population.
  • NACCHO Annual Conference 2012 - (National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO))  - July 11-13, 2012, Los Angeles, CA. National conference to specifically address the needs and concerns of local health officials.
  • International 2012 AIDS Conference - (International AIDS Society (IAS))  - July 22-27, 2012, Washington, DC. The conference will bring together leading scientists, public health experts, policy-makers, and the HIV-affected community to translate recent scientific advances into action that will address means to end the epidemic, within the current context of significant global economic challenges.
  • National Conference on Health Statistics 2012 Conference - (National Center for Health Statistics, CDC (NCHS))  - August 6-8, 2012, Washington, DC.
